A newly discovered near-Earth asteroid named 2026 JH2 is set to make an extremely close flyby of Earth next week, passing at a distance of just 90,917 kilometers — much closer than the Moon. Scientists have confirmed that there is no danger of collision and that Earth remains safe for at least the next 100 years based on current calculations. Classified as an Apollo-type Near-Earth Object (NEO), the asteroid was recently detected by observatories in Kansas and Arizona, USA, and researchers are continuing to study its size, speed, and orbital path.
